(The vacuum shown on the gauge is the difference between atmospheric pressure and cylinder pressure, or how much inches in mercury below atmospheric pressure. Atmospheric pressure is about 30 in-Hg at sea level, so a reading at idle of -19 in-Hg means the pressure in the cylinders is 11 in-Hg.)
