PS PUMP.

What color should your power steering pump be? According to a TSB dated February 28, 1968, "The power steering pump can be either a Ford Thompson design, blue in color or a TRW design, black in color. The pump parts in Depot stock will fit either pump as they are interchangeable in model application." The purpose of the TSB was to advise of a pulley change on the production line started on October 10, 1968, to improve pump durability. The next question is typically, how do you tell a Ford pump from a TRW one? The tag on the rear of a Ford pump will have an "F" in the middle row of codes. The TRW pump tag can be identified by a "W" as the first letter stamped in the bottom row of information.

Paint is: PPG DAR-3421.
